Hydrology and Hydraulics

Quantifying watershed runoff and resulting streamflow is essential for successful design and operation of modern water resources projects.  Solutions to water resources problems affect all aspects of the hydrologic cycle throughout the watershed.

The potential effects of changes in climate may be reflected in streamflow data for the period of record for a particular location.  Recent storm events and meteorological studies must be taken into account when considering the intensity, duration and frequency of precipitation for the area under study.

CAI collects the necessary data to develop hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to provide our clients with practical solutions to water resources challenges.  We work collaboratively with clients to identify cost-effective solutions in accordance with Federal and state regulatory guidelines.

Hydrology and Hydraulics Expertise:

  • Streamflow analysis to support development of project specifications
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic studies to support dam safety efforts
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic studies to support for environmental efforts
  • Watershed and river modeling to support design decisions
  • Statistical analysis of hydrologic data
